Pics!

Ok, so The Big Day has come and gone and we have all survived... Mostly.

I plan on doing a full post mortem at some point, but not now. Now I'm calling out to all of our faithful readers (all two of you) to reply to this post with links to pictures. I'm counting on you here!

License and registration please

Ksenia and I took a quick trip to Macy's and Target two weeks ago. And by quick I mean: very very long. Yes, we registered. To be honest it wasn't nearly as stressful as either of us had anticipated. For example, when we were done, neither of us had killed the other one and we still wanted to get married. Personally, I take that as a good sign; the wedding books I have read listed the mortality rate of registering around 65%.

The whole process was pretty easy. Ksenia and I picked out china. Translation for the men: Ksenia picked out china and I was allowed to "approve" it – tell her that whatever she picked was exactly right. Along the same lines, Ksenia pointed out something pretty interesting to me. First off, I need to explain the process of registering at Macy's. They have a whole floor dedicated to registering couples, which is a godsend. This means that the only people you see while registering are other people registering. No riff-raff, no crowds. Now, here's the bit the Ksenia pointed out: many of the "couples" were mother-daughter pairs. It's as if they just assumed the men would get in the way!

For those of you who plan on getting married some day, Ksenia and I would recommend Macy's for registering. They obviously do a lot of weddings and as such, know how to cater and take care of the couples.

Hotel Information

On our wedding website, we've posted some information about a local hotel. The hotel is a Comfort Inn, just a few minutes away from our house. We've booked 20 rooms for Friday and Saturday nights (but we can always extend the time frame). If you are planning on traveling and staying the night, please book your rooms by August 26, 2008, since this is the cut-off date for any changes and reservations, and it will also include the discounted rate. We went to see the hotel in person and it's very clean and nice, and the rooms are quite spacious. The information about the hotel is on our website. If anyone has any questions, just let us know.

Save the Date

Hi everyone! We've sent out our Save The Date tickets. Invitations will be sent out in the next few months. We hope you all liked the tickets!

Bridesmaid Dresses

The other weekend, I went with Danielle (maid of honor) and Jess (bridesmaid) to go dress shopping for them. The groom's mom (aka Mrs. Josh aka Gangy aka Momma K aka Milly) came along as well. We went to David's Bridal in Dedham and we had a grand ol' time. First off, I didn't have to try on any dresses. I got to pass judgement. Hehe. But in all seriousness, dress shopping went over very well and we had a good time. I have to say, in the end the dress that Danielle and Jess are going to wear is beautiful. They're both going to wear the same dress but they each look really good in it! While trying on all the dresses, they each looked really good in them. Here is the link to some pictures: Dresses. At first, I wanted them to each wear different dresses (like have Danielle wear a long one and Jess a shorter one). Then I wanted them both to have short ones, but still different styles. And then, I couldn't decide between them wearing the same short dresses (the brown ones that they are wearing in the pictures) or each wearing different ones. So, to top it all off, they tried on the long ones, which are seen at the end of the photo album! And the general consensus was that they both wear it. Luckily they had the dresses in the right color as well. Whew! So it was great to see the color on them. And so, the dresses have been ordered already!

K was able to find several articles and videos about the Polonaise for the wedding website. I have now added a new page to the site with the information.

Because a blog just wasn't geeky enough

Ksenia and I are now pleased to present to you our wedding website. You may be asking: "Why? Why a website and a blog? A blog and a website! You fools!" First off, it was D's idea. She's such a good little over-achieving Maid of Honor. The plan is to put relevent information for guests and family on the website in an easy to find setting. We will continue to put all the boring minutiae that only you, my dear blog reader, care about.

And so, without further ado, our wedding website.

p.s.
Don't forget to sign the guestbook.
