License and registration please

Ksenia and I took a quick trip to Macy's and Target two weeks ago. And by quick I mean: very very long. Yes, we registered. To be honest it wasn't nearly as stressful as either of us had anticipated. For example, when we were done, neither of us had killed the other one and we still wanted to get married. Personally, I take that as a good sign; the wedding books I have read listed the mortality rate of registering around 65%.

The whole process was pretty easy. Ksenia and I picked out china. Translation for the men: Ksenia picked out china and I was allowed to "approve" it – tell her that whatever she picked was exactly right. Along the same lines, Ksenia pointed out something pretty interesting to me. First off, I need to explain the process of registering at Macy's. They have a whole floor dedicated to registering couples, which is a godsend. This means that the only people you see while registering are other people registering. No riff-raff, no crowds. Now, here's the bit the Ksenia pointed out: many of the "couples" were mother-daughter pairs. It's as if they just assumed the men would get in the way!

For those of you who plan on getting married some day, Ksenia and I would recommend Macy's for registering. They obviously do a lot of weddings and as such, know how to cater and take care of the couples.
